Background Information
Current Projects
Innovations In Reentry Fund
Place Matters is currently supporting the launch of the Alameda County Innovations In Reentry. This past fall, the Alameda County Community Corrections Partnership Executive Committee allocated $1 million in AB 109 funds to a newly created Innovation In Reentry. This fund is intended to support community-based approaches to supporting successful re-entry and reducing recidivism. The Place Matters Criminal Justice team coordinating this grant-making process, including convening stakeholders to define the funding priorities, solicit and review grant proposals, and make funding recommendations. Alameda County’s goals for Realignment, as expressed in Alameda County’s Realignment Plan, are aligned with Place Matters’ Criminal Justice goals of decreasing recidivism and supporting successful re-entry and sentencing alternatives, and coordinating RIF is a step toward supporting Alameda County’s efforts to reach our goals. For more information on this project, please contact Criminal Justice Coordinator Tamiko Johnson (contact information below).
