Why is policy change an important part of achieving social and health equity?
Achieving health equity means changing the social, economic, political, and built environments to promote health. Policy is a critical tool for changing environments. Our policy work is at the local, state and federal level. We define policy as any action or inaction the government takes or chooses not to take that seeks to address problems or issues.
