Violence Prevention Partners

Currently, the Office of Violence Prevention is engaged in funding 17 community-based organizations across five categories of work. For more details about our grantees and contracted work, click here.   

Direct Violence Prevention and Intervention Services 

Organizations addressing violence across Alameda County with a focus on equity and structural drivers.  

Youth and Young Adult Suicide Prevention and Crisis Response Services 

Organizations addressing suicide and attempts among youth and young adults (ages 25 and under), specifically the highest need groups within Alameda County.  

Violence Prevention Workforce Healing and Wellness 

Organization addressing trauma experienced by frontline violence intervention workers through a program intended to maximize their health and wellness.   

Narrative Change – Internal Focused 

Organization conducting a baseline analysis of attitudes that influence local narratives around violence and safety with the intention to develop a narrative change plan and trainings for Alameda County Health.  

Narrative Change – External Focused 

Organizations leading community discussions on violence, envisioning peaceful and safe living, and employing narrative change strategies that aim to reduce violence and promote community healing.  

Hospital-Based Violence Prevention 

Organization delivering an evidence-informed program to address root causes that contribute to violence-related admissions at Alameda County’s four designated trauma hospitals.
