Voting Matters is an initiative brought to you by the Alameda County Public Health Department. Voting Matters empowers Alameda County residents to be engaged voters who can make informed decisions on issues that affect their communities--and by extension, their health.

Voting by Mail
Pursuant to Executive Order N-64-20, all registered voters will be sent a vote-by-mail ballot for the November 3, 2020 election, starting October 5.
Registered voters do not need to apply for a vote-by-mail ballot.
Mail your ballot on or before November 3 (postmark deadline), or drop it off by 8:00p.m on November 3 at:
- any 24-Hour Ballot Drop Box location
- any of the Accessible Voting Locations

Voter registration forms sent by U.S. mail must be postmarked by October 19, 2020

If you are enrolled in California's confidential address program for survivors of violence or abuse, contact the Safe At Home program to register to vote at (877) 322-5227 or email safeathome@sos.ca.gov.
Safe and Informed Voting During COVID-19
To decrease your risk of exposure to COVID-19, you are encouraged to vote early, and to vote by mail, if possible. Regular neighborhood polling places will not be open. Instead, here are the ways to vote in this election:
Vote in Person:
- October 5 - November 3 at the Registrar of Voters office at the Rene C. Davidson Courthouse, 1225 Fallon Street, Oakland, CA 94612.
- October 31 - November 3 at any Accessible Voting Locations near you
Vote by Mail:
Mail your ballot on or before November 3 (postmark deadline) by U.S. mail, or drop it off by 8:00p.m on November 3 at:
- any 24-Hour Ballot Drop Box location
- any of the Accessible Voting Locations
